Councillor Matt Bryan & Chester's Tar Pits
Councillor Matt Bryan has long been a passionate campaigner against fracking in the borough, recognising the damaging impact of fracking on the environment as it reinjects chemicals into aquifers and causes significant (direct and indirect) methane emissions. Disappointed with the local governments disinterest in the issue, Cllr Matt made a deal with the opposition to obtain a safe seat. Cllr Matt thanks a gargantuan community effort for giving him this platform to advocate for transparency in fracking bids and to fight against them to preserve the local environment. Further to this, he works towards improving air quality and finding funding to clean up local tar pits, a toxic reminder of past industry.
